Dental Implants

Despite improvements in dental care, millions of people suffer tooth loss.  Whether it is from tooth decay, periodontal disease or injury.  For many years, the only treatment options available to replace missing teeth were bridges, partial or full dentures.  Luckily today, a much better option of dental implants are available. Dental implants are replacement tooth roots and provide a strong foundation for tooth replacement and are made to match your natural teeth.  They are made of titanium which is lightweight, strong and bio-compatible, which means that it is not rejected by the body.  Titanium and titanium alloys are the most widely used metals in both dental and other bone implants, such as orthopedic joint replacements.  Dental implants have been place since the 1970's and have the highest success rate of any implanted surgical device.  There are three parts to an dental implant:  1. The Implant, that is implanted in the bone, to replace the root structure of a tooth.  2.  The Abutment, that is anchored into the implant and will be used to cement a custom crown.  3.  The custom-made dental implant crown that is made to match your natural teeth.

Benefits of Dental Implants:

IMPROVED APPEARANCE:  Dental implants look and feel like your own teeth and because they are designed to fuse with bone, they become permanent.

IMPROVED COMFORT:  Because they become part of you, implants eliminate the discomfort of removable partial or full dentures.

IMPROVED ORAL HEALTH:  Dental implants do not sacrifice the quality of your adjacent teeth like a bridge does because neighboring teeth are not altered to support the implant.  More of your teeth are left untouched, a significant long term benefit to your oral health.

CONFIDENCE:  Dental implants will allow you to once again speak and eat with comfort and confidence.  They are secure and offer freedom from the clicking and wobblings of partial or full dentures.  No worries about messy pastes and glues or misplaced dentures.

RELIABLE AND DURABILITY:  Implants are very durable and will last many years and with good care, many last a lifetime.  The success rate of dental implants is highly predictable.  They are considered an excellent option for tooth replacement.
